The new tomato variety "Vystrel" was developed by experts from the company "Agrosemtoms" LLC and received approval for use in 2020. The developers are V. M. Motov, V. I. Kozak, and Yu. A. Astrakhansky. The tomato variety "Vystrel" can be grown both outdoors and indoors.
Description of the bush and fruits
The Vystrel tomato belongs to the determinate group of tomatoes, which are characterized by a compact growth habit and limited bush height. This means the plants won't grow too tall and can thrive in relatively limited space.

Varietal characteristics:
- The bush has a compact form, reaching a height of about 30 cm, and medium branching. Foliage coverage is also moderate. The stem is erect, with short, dark green leaves. The inflorescence is simple, and the peduncle is articulated.
- The fruits are light green when unripe and red when ripe. They are flat-round in shape and weigh approximately 120 g. The number of chambers in a single fruit varies from 4 to 6.
- The Vystrel tomato has medium-firm, red flesh. It boasts an excellent flavor, combining sweetness with a slight tartness.
- The skin is also of medium thickness.
Main characteristics
It boasts high quality and is resistant to transportation. Additional advantages include competitive productivity: in open ground, it yields up to 4.5-4.8 kg per square meter.
Other characteristic features:
- The ripening period occurs early – from 80 to 83 days from the moment the shoots begin to sprout.
- Tomatoes are distinguished by their resistance to mechanical damage, which ensures their good transportability.
- The simultaneous ripening of many fruits on one plant, which contributes to rare but fruitful harvests.
- Characterized by good tolerance to temperature fluctuations and excessive moisture.
- When grown under black cover, the variety does not require garters, which simplifies the cultivation process.
Growing and care
To obtain seedlings in central Russia, sowing should begin no earlier than April 10-15 to ensure uniform fruit formation, compact plant growth, and a timely harvest. The crop is suitable for planting outdoors from June 1-5, after the danger of late frost has passed.
- ✓ Optimum soil temperature for sowing seeds: not lower than +15°C.
- ✓ Plant spacing: 30-40 cm to ensure sufficient space for growth.
For optimal development, it requires fertile soil. One of the key characteristics of the Vystrel is its long fruiting period, which is considered a significant advantage.
Sowing, raising seedlings, and subsequent care are standard, so even a novice gardener can handle the job. The key is to water regularly, fertilize occasionally, and remove weeds while loosening the soil.
