I continue to write about thistle, which is popular among folk healers due to its many beneficial properties propertiesI already wrote about what exactly is possible to produce (decoctions, tinctures, juice, meal, syrup), and now I'll tell you how to prepare remedies for a specific problem.
A remedy for cleansing and treating the liver
A neighbor once recommended this recipe to me. Her grandfather loved to drink, and his liver was in terrible condition. This Aunt Dusya herself took the tincture, as a preventative measure, so to speak.
How to prepare and drink:
- Measure out 20g of dried inflorescences, which is about 1.5 tbsp.
- Pour into a saucepan, add 250 ml of boiling water.
- Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Don't turn the heat down too low; just enough to keep the liquid simmering.
- Let it brew under the lid.
- Take 20 ml throughout the day at intervals of 2 or 3 hours.
- Store in the refrigerator.
The 200 ml obtained after boiling and straining is the daily dose. However, keep in mind that drinking more than 20 ml at a time is not recommended.
Oh, and my neighbor also said that the course should be like this: take it every day for exactly a week, then take a break for the same amount of time. If you need to treat your liver, the course should be three months; if it's for prevention, two.
Recipes for male potency
This remedy was recommended to me by the same Aunt Dusya (she was the one who introduced me to milk thistle—her grandmother was a healer). The recipe is used when a man's sexual function weakens in the early stages. The decoction is especially helpful for prostatitis, as it kills bacteria and reduces inflammation.
How to cook:
- Take exactly 30 g of milk thistle flowers and leaves.
- Pour 600 ml of boiling water.
- Place in a double boiler. Simmer for 15 minutes after boiling.
- Strain and store in the refrigerator.
Drink 100 or 150 ml twice a day, depending on whether you're using it for treatment or just prevention. The course lasts 2-3 weeks.
What's important is that you can't even add honey to the decoction; the man will have to drink a bitter liquid.
A safe cough remedy for children
Children are most often susceptible to coughs and colds. There's a remedy specifically designed for them (ages 5 and up) that's considered safe. The recipe also includes other herbs:
- Mix 30 g each of coltsfoot, milk thistle and plantain.
- Pour in 600 ml of boiling water.
- Cover and let sit until cool.
Give children 20-25 ml of liquid up to 5 times a day. Be sure to add plenty of honey. This treatment is allowed for 6-7 days.
Hair products
When my hair started falling out rapidly (due to stress), I used milk thistle tea. It really does help. But keep in mind that it's recommended for normal to oily hair, not dry hair.
How to prepare and use:
- Combine equal parts milk thistle, chamomile, calendula, string thistle, and milk thistle leaves. This means you should have a total of five ingredients, two of which are milk thistle, in the form of leaves and flowers.
- Measure out 100 g of the mixture and pour it into a saucepan.
- Pour 650 ml of water and bring to a boil.
- Cook for 15-20 minutes.
- Let it sit covered until it cools.
- Strain and rinse your hair without rubbing afterwards.
- To increase the effectiveness, I soaked my entire hair and scalp thoroughly with the decoction, covered it with a plastic bag, and tied a light scarf. I left it like that for about half an hour, and then simply dried it with a towel. Just make sure to use a dark-colored towel, as the decoction will leave stains that are very difficult to wash out.
I also washed my face with this decoction. The skin on my face became smooth and even.
A word of warning: first learn the rules of collection and storage, and then proceed to harvesting and preparing the products. If you wish, you can also master the science. cultivation thistle.
