This section is the most favorite for women because it concerns beauty. It turns out, Sarepta mustard useful not only for health of the body, but it's also used in cosmetology. And in general, it's used in many places.
Mustard was first used for body beauty in the East, and then the recipes migrated to Europe and then to our country. What are the benefits of Sarepta mustard?
- evens out skin texture and color;
- restores the functionality of the sebaceous glands, which is important for oily skin types;
- normalizes metabolism and cellular balance;
- cleanses pores;
- brightens (removes pigment spots);
- reduces the level of skin irritation (inflammation);
- accelerates blood circulation;
- stimulates the synthesis of elastin and collagen;
- smoothes wrinkles;
- tones the dermis;
- promotes accelerated hair growth and strengthens the nail plate;
- moisturizes and nourishes the skin.
Just remember that mustard is a strong condiment, so strictly adhere to the dosage. Otherwise, you can burn your skin. My neighbor decided to use mustard powder for the first time and added twice as much of this pungent ingredient to her mask. Her face was irritated for 2-3 days. So don't repeat the mistakes of others.
I'll give you some useful tips:
- If your skin is thin, very sensitive or dry, it is better to apply the mask through a cloth, that is, apply it not directly to the skin, but to a piece of thin cloth;
- An alternative option in the same cases is to first apply olive oil to the skin;
- For masks, use only homemade powder, so you can be sure there are no harmful additives;
- masks can be kept on for only 5-10 minutes;
- It is better to use the product a couple of hours before bedtime;
- If there is slight redness after the procedure, don’t worry, this is normal, but if your skin burns, wash off the mask immediately;
- You shouldn’t do masks too often – for oily skin, a maximum of 4-5 times a month; for dry skin, 2-3 times is enough;
- Apply the mask to your hair a couple of days after washing it – this will reduce the aggressive effects;
- Avoid using masks if you have excess hair (a condition called hypertrichosis), dermatitis, herpes, wounds, or scratches.
The best and proven recipes:
- For acne. Take 60 ml of water, 40 g of turmeric, 30 g of mustard powder, and a couple of drops of lemon juice. Apply to spots, not all over your face. Leave on for 10 minutes. Since this mask also contains other ingredients, you can use it daily.
- For skin lightening with freckles and age spots. Add 30 g of powder to 60 ml of water, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 minutes (preferably in a double boiler). Let the mixture cool, then add 50 ml of liquid honey and 30 ml of lemon juice. Add a few drops of almond oil to soften the mixture. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- From wrinkles. Add 30 g of finely chopped mustard leaves and the same amount of parsley to 50 ml of sour cream. Leave it on for up to 20 minutes. I personally noticed the first effect after four treatments.
- For cleaning leather. Mix equal parts flour and mustard powder. Add 30 ml of boiling water to 30 g of the mixture. Once the mixture has cooled, add 15 ml of cream and a couple of drops of lemon juice. Let it steep for 10 minutes.
- From cellulite. It works very well – I've personally tested it. To do this, combine 30 g of finely chopped mustard greens and 45 ml of honey. Apply to the affected area, wrap in plastic wrap, and leave on for about an hour. Do this mask twice a week. You can also use powder, but in that case, you'll only need 15 g of powder per 45 ml of honey.
- For hair growth. Prepare a nettle infusion. Take 60 ml of it, add 60 g of mustard powder, 30 ml each of almond oil and cognac. Massage into your scalp, cover with plastic wrap, and leave for no more than 10 minutes.
You can find plenty of other recipes online, but I wouldn't be responsible for their effectiveness, as I only share tried-and-true recipes that I've tested on myself or my friends. Use mustard and become even more beautiful and fresh!
I also talked about how to do it on my own cook mustard powder, and make delicious mustard from it.
