Bedstraw is a weed, but many herbalists use the above-ground parts and root system for various ailments. Furthermore, the greens are also used in official pharmacology.
- The roots are very rich in tannins, which stop bleeding due to their astringent properties. This also allows the root system to be used to treat hemorrhoids (incidentally, many call the herb "hemorrhoidal") and bleeding wounds.
- The composition contains bactericidal substances, so many use decoctions to remove harmful substances from the body and suppress bacteria that are localized in the organs of the gastrointestinal tract.
- My herbalist neighbor "prescribes" a root decoction to her patients to lower blood pressure. As far as I know, it works.
- Can be used to relieve symptoms of an allergic reaction on the skin.
- Decoctions are used for burns and bruises.
- The herb helps with gout, rheumatism, women's diseases, and kidney problems.
Should not be taken during pregnancy, hypotension, diabetes or cancer.

We sometimes see this weed growing in our potatoes, but we don't give it a chance to grow; we pull it out right away. It turns out it's medicinal and beneficial.
