My childhood is remembered for the aroma and sweet taste of huge white grape clusters grown from my grandfather's wickerwork. When my first son was born, my dad also planted a 5m x 12m vineyard for his grandchildren. He approached the entire cultivation process with the utmost seriousness. It required a great deal of effort, money, and time. Constant care included treating the grapes with pesticides...
It's hard to imagine a Siberian dacha without currants, honeysuckle, and serviceberries. These bushes are undemanding, frost-resistant, and easy to care for. They grow in any dacha, even in abandoned plots, producing a good harvest almost every year. Their berries are rich in vitamins, healthy, and delicious. When we bought our dacha, there were four blackcurrant bushes growing on the property—all of the same variety.
A rainy and cold June took its toll. The constant dampness and cold nights are causing my vegetable and garden crops to suffer and become ill. My gooseberry bushes are also affected. First, burgundy leaves appeared at the tops of one bush, and then I discovered a white, powdery coating on the stems and leaves. I'm also concerned about the burgundy spots on the upper leaves; I'm not sure if this is a result of powdery mildew...
Good afternoon. Today I'd like to share my experience planting fruit trees and warn you not to repeat my planning mistakes. So, just five years ago, the plot was practically an open field. Our plot reached about the size of the mounds of earth. A neighbor had already brought it in; there's just no fence between us yet. I've only just planted the first trees. Of course, there were no plans...
We have honeysuckle growing at our dacha. It's the earliest berry to bloom. The plant's bushes are compact, not tall, and neat, with small, elongated leaves. It begins blooming before all the trees and shrubs have budded; even on the bush itself, the flowers appear first, and then the leaves open. Honeysuckle flowers are light yellow, and bumblebees love them. Recommended...
Swollen red, brown, and green spots have appeared on the young leaves of our red and white currants. Last summer, we noticed these leaves when the red and white currants were already ripening; there weren't many of them. We picked them off, but didn't treat the currants with anything. This year, these leaves appeared very early and there are many of them. We need to save the currants urgently. In...
Hello! As a novice amateur gardener, when planting different varieties and types of fruit trees in my garden, I've encountered the need to mow the grass regularly. Ideally, a garden would have a neatly trimmed lawn or dug soil, which is then used for growing vegetables or flowers. But in practice, not everyone has the time or opportunity...
