I'd like to tell you about my village vineyard and my experience growing grapes in an urban setting. My grandfather started growing cultivated grapes. Along with sour wine grapes and Isabella, there were honey-colored white clusters. They were a real treat for us kids. My dad started his vineyard about 7 or 8 years ago.
This season has been a dry one in our village. Not a single useful rain has fallen—something trickles, teases, and then stops, or the wind blows away the clouds, spilling them into the neighboring village.
